Grey Shade Valley & Posters – Darren Kern – Devlog # 15

Grey Shade Valley – blocking in:

Following the Hall of Fame work, I was given a new task to begin the blocking in phase of one of the battle environments for the Monochrome RPG game. Right now it is in the very early stages with a lot of work yet to be done, but it’s a base layout with relatively low-poly geometry. Nevertheless, here is the progress so far.

poster bakes:

After putting in some work in the Grey Shade Valley, I switched over to another task. A few weeks ago I had to make adjustments to a culture room environment for an existing project. This was a simple task, but it involved placing posters on the walls and baking out the maps.

What’s next:

To finish out the week, I look to continue blocking out and working on the Grey Shade Valley battle environment. I’ll be making adjustments as needed and continuing with any other tasks that may come up throughout the week.

Media of the Week:

I’ve been using Blender for a few months now, and I always find this guy’s tutorials to be helpful and are a great way to learn ways to be more efficient when it comes to anything with 3D modeling. So if anyone is interested, I highly recommend watching this channel, not only for tips on modeling, but learning about the industry as well!
