My first week
I had a great first week at DVNC! I got to know the DVNC team and learned about the projects they’ve been working on. I’m still getting situated, but I’m excited for what’s in store for me. I can’t wait to work alongside my peers on these projects for the next 6 months!
What I've been doing
This week was mostly an introduction to the co-op and learning the ropes. Throughout the week my peers and I met Nick and learned about all of the tools we will be using to help us manage our time and tasks.
We also met our group’s manager Vince. We got to know one another and what each of us want out of this co-op. Afterwards, we were assigned with creating a 5 year plan consisting of career, hobby and life goals. I spent the week writing out my goals. I also tinkered around in some of the sources given and quickly familiarized myself with all of their tools.
What's next
I will continue to revise my 5 year plan while also figuring out a solid schedule. Next week, I am working together with my peers in a game jam. I’ve never done a game jam before, so I’m excited to do one for the first time. I can’t wait to see what we will create!
Music theory anyone?
I am OBSESSED with video game music and could probably talk your ear off about all my favorite soundtracks for hours. Whether I’m doing homework or just trying to sleep, I’m always listening to it. A soundtrack I’ve been jamming out to recently is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky’s as I just recently beat the game and HOO BOY does it hit you in the feels. I recently discovered this video that talks about few of the leitmotifs that are in several of the songs from the game. If you like music theory (and Pokémon), then I think you will enjoy this video!
