Last Week Recap
Last week went by surprisingly fast for me. I spent most of my time either in meetings or developing the desktop wireframe I had discussed in my previous log. I have come to realize I really enjoy working on wireframes. I don’t know why I like them so much – it reminds me of my weird love for transition words.
Besides working on the wireframe, I also got to brainstorm and vote for potential features to include in the Dayquest app. One of my favorite features was the possibility of a little battle sequence for the user to go through whenever they defeat a task/monster. Plus, figuring out the features helped me complete my rules documentation as I needed to know what features I was making rules for.
Still, barring all those items, I didn’t do too much last week. Though I can’t say the same for this upcoming week – it seems I will have much to do in terms of implementing the Dayquest rules page, but I enjoy the work, so it isn’t too bad.
Upcoming Work
As I had predicted during my last dev-log’s upcoming work section, I have begun working to develop an MVP for both the rules page and the ranks page. Now, the ranks page was something I was recently assigned between last week and this week, but I’ve enjoyed developing it so far. Plus, I didn’t have to put too much thought into the page’s appearance as I had already laid it out in the desktop wireframe I did last week. Overall, the development for both pages went fairly quickly, and I finished with at least a week buffer of the sprint’s due date. I expect I will soon be moving on to the next phase of the sprint of user testing, which I’m very excited about.

For those that don’t know, Disneyland in California hosts a Star Wars Nite at the beginning of May to celebrate May the 4th. Now, I have long accepted that I will not be able to attend until I graduate as it’s far, expensive, and right in the middle of co-op. However, that doesn’t stop me from being absolutely devastated at the character meets they have this year. I mean, come on, they have Padme! And to make it worse, I saw a video of Anakin showing up despite not being on the meeting list. Now, this might just be me making a nerd of myself, but I would do anything to meet the character actors for Anakin and Padme. Hell, I would do anything to attend the celebration. Unfortunately, it isn’t in the cards for me this year, or the next few years, so I will continue to be jealous in my apartment on the other side of the country.
